After finding faith and a passion for worship at a summer camp as a teenager, Pastor Jay led worship on a volunteer basis for many years. He then served as Worship Pastor at Moncton Wesleyan Church before accepting the role he currently holds as Worship Pastor at King’s Church. Pastor Jay looks for any part he can play in transferring some of his passion for worship to the younger generation and equipping them with the practical skills to pass that passion on to their congregation.
Pastor Jay’s hope for his students is that they would gain an understanding of the role of a worship leader, which is to pastor the people of God in giving glory to God.
Pastor Jay has thirty years of practical leadership experience as a worship leader. Still a full time worship leader, he also has a platform that allows him to give opportunities to younger leaders, which is his intention. He is passionate about not only instilling principles in his students, but providing his students with practical opportunities to apply these principles.
When he isn’t working, Pastor Jay enjoys sailing with his family, the occasional round of golf, and skiing in the winter.
