Helping students and Kingswood achieve academic excellence is a role that Rev. Dr. Janet Starks takes seriously. In addition to ensuring the University’s compliance with academic standards for accreditation, she gives oversight to Kingswood’s entire curriculum and helps students navigate program options for meeting graduation requirements. She serves on the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education.
Dr. Starks has also been instrumental in creating and overseeing the Kingswood Student Success Centre, a free tutoring and study help service for students.
Born and raised in England, Dr. Starks considers herself a British Canadian. She and her husband Rev. Richard Starks have two adult daughters who are educators. She is an ordained minister of The Wesleyan Church.
For relaxation, Dr. Starks loves to travel with her family, read, and do puzzles of all kinds. She can also operate a mitre saw and swing a hammer, having helped her husband on many home renovation projects.
