Encounter 2017

About

Encounter, a dynamic youth event, is happening this October 13-14th. It is designed to engage you in worship, through music and the Word, and to challenge you to explore the call God has placed on your life. It also introduces you to Kingswood University, to see if this may be the place God is leading you to train for ministry.

Encounter 2017

Speaker

BrentRev. Brent Ingersoll is the lead pastor at Kings Church in Quispamsis, NB. Pastor Brent has led Kings Church through its transformation into a multi-site congregation and is one of the fastest growing churches in Canada.

Under Brent’s leadership, Kings Church is raising up future leaders, addressing child poverty, and ushering people into a dynamic faith in Jesus. Pastor Brent currently lives in Quispamsis, NB, with his wife Melanie, their daughter Ava, and their sons Aden and Alexander.

Rev. Zach Coffin has been pastoring with his wife Becca since they were 19 years old. They share a deep love for the Holy Spirit and believe God wants to bring revival to this generation.

Zach’s deepest desire is for this generation to experience the goodness of God through a tangible move of His Spirit. They have two beautiful daughters Annalee and Iyla. Currently, Zach serves as the Director of Next Generation Multiplication & Discipleship for The Wesleyan Church. Follow Zach at zachcoffin.com.

Rev. Mark Brewer has been serving at Crosspoint Church in many various roles since 2004 and became lead pastor in 2012. He and his wife Liz have three girls that provide many humorous sermon illustrations and “good grief.” When Mark isn’t dreaming of swimming with sharks, he’s playing board games, reading, drinking coffee, or talking about drinking coffee.

Leaders and Parents

We are so excited that you are helping teens reach their God-given potential! Encounter is a dynamic youth event designed to engage youth in worship, through music and the Word, and to challenge them to explore the call God has placed on their lives.

Our goal for Encounter is that students:

  • Encounter each other
  • Encounter Kingswood
  • Encounter the Lord (most importantly)

Teens will also participate in fun activities, tour Kingswood, and meet new friends. Encounter is meant to introduce students to Kingswood and the atmosphere on campus. Those attending are encouraged to immerse themselves in campus life, by staying in the residence halls and eating in the dining hall.

Kingswood University is a Wesleyan university located in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada. It is the only Wesleyan higher-education institution in Canada.

*Remember that your teens will only be entered into the draw for a SET OF BEATS HEADPHONES if their registration forms arrive no later than 5pm AST, September 19th, 2017.

There are three options for housing for Encounter:

1. The first option is to stay on campus in the residence halls with current students. This experience will give your teens a glimpse into residence life here at Kingswood University.

2. The second option is to stay at a local hotel. We have rooms reserved at the Fairway Inn and Amsterdam Inn at a special Kingswood University rate.  These rooms must be booked directly with the hotel. When you call, please indicate that you are part of the Kingswood Encounter event.

Amsterdam Inn (506-432-5050)
$110/room for 1-4 people
Breakfast included.

Fairway Inn (506-433-3470)
$94/room for 1-4 people
Breakfast not included. $15 extra if a cot is required.

Note: If you wish to stay extra nights you are responsible for booking them with that particular hotel.

3. The third option is to make your own arrangements. You may have friends close by that would allow you and your teens to stay at their house.

Please remember that your youth must be supervised wherever you choose to stay. Housing for additional nights on campus is possible but must be arranged with the Kingswood University Enrolment Department by September 19th, 2017.
