Professor Axel Kazadi began following Jesus seriously in Grade 12. Prior to his conversion, he thought he was going to pursue natural science at an undergraduate university. The natural world and biology were very interesting to him, but the Lord had other plans. His academic interests and outlook on life changed after Christ tangibly encountered him in a profound way before his high school graduation. He sensed a call to serve Christ. His interests in theology and the Church developed subsequently before he attended Kingswood in 2008. He is very passionate about helping students comprehend the significance of theology for life and ministry, articulate reasons for what they believe, and appreciate the value of discussing and learning theology in conjunction with Scripture and Church tradition.
Professor Kazadi is currently a Ph.D. candidate in theological studies at Wycliffe College at University of Toronto, and his research interests are Patristic studies, sacramental theology, ecclesiology, Wesleyan/Methodist studies, and Reformation theology.
Professor Kazadi is a Kingswood alumnus. He has diverse ministerial experiences. He has served in Beresford (New Brunswick), Chicago (Illinois), and Markham (Ontario). During his spare time, Professor Kazadi enjoys reading novels, jogging, watching and playing soccer, and watching the Toronto Raptors.
