Early in his ministry, Dr. Allen Lee became concerned about making troublesome parishioner situations worse by giving untrained counsel. He decided to further his ministerial training by earning a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology with a specialty in Marriage and Family.
“It is my privilege to facilitate learning alongside the next generation of Christian Counsellors here at Kingswood,” says Dr. Lee. “The greatest reward comes from partnering with these young men and women as they are increasingly impacting their world.”
In and out of the classroom, Dr. Lee assists students in developing strategies for balancing the responsibilities of vocational ministry with those of the family. Several of the strategies he uses himself as he balances his teaching load with being a husband to Vicky and a father of four daughters.
Dr. Lee’s experience working in the psychiatric department of a large hospital for ten years and serving as a young adult and youth pastor gives him a voice on local mental health committees and in the lives of students.
